I’m a yoga teacher. Whether in a group class or one-on-one session, I want you to feel welcome and fulfilled practicing with me. Throughout your practice I encourage you to explore your body with curiosity, an open mind and a kind heart. My intention is for you to feel at least a bit better in some way after your practice, even if you are already feeling luminous.

MY INADVERTENT JOURNEY

Bored with all the other “workout” options, I went to my first yoga class at Crunch Gym in NYC in 1997. I liked it enough to return, even though my attendance was spotty and I always ducked out before savasana. After a few years off, during which I had my three awesome kids, I slowly made my way back to my mat with a new-found fascination for meditation, anatomy, philosophy - and savasana. Lying on the floor feeling my body relax was gold as a young mom! Initially intending to deepen my knowledge, but not to teach (I’m not a lover of public speaking!), I completed a 200-hour teacher training program in 2013. I’ve been teaching ever since. Life’s weird like that.

Left unattended for too long, I tend to sneak into the type-A perfectionist nut camp. Yoga helps me relax, tune inward, ground with what’s important and release control. My hope is to help others find slivers of peace when they practice yoga and more importantly, to practice finding that peace in their everyday lives.

Yoga offers unlimited avenues of growth in both my teaching and personal practice. Since my initial 200-hour training I continue to delve deeper into many areas of study including restorative and trauma-informed yoga. Thank you to all my wonderful teachers, past, present and future. Special gratitude to my students for coming to class, being great friends, enjoying my music and keeping me sane-ish.
